Injustice Flourishes

The Bonus Gate of 2009 is really irritating. The US tax payer, via the US Government, clearly and directly interceded in the private marketplace and protected people from the consequences of their actions. Never in United States history has favoritism so brazenly rewarded one group of citizens over the majority of United States citizens. The U.S. Government, in effect, allowed corporations who sought public funding to dictate the terms of their own loan. This funding was provided by the U.S. Treasury borrowing from China, Japan and other richer nations. This means that the taxpayer is not only bailing out American corporations, but they are paying the interest for the money that is not all going to be repaid to the Treasury.

By the way, has anyone heard if anything has happened with the so called "toxic assets?" Has the Treasury been able to sell some of these stocks yet?

America is crying out for justice. All the companies that took taxpayer money need to be held accountable. Since the Government will not protect the national assets of this country from these corporations, the only recourse is for the citizens of this great nation to send a message to these corporations.

Perhaps we need to change the way we buys things, which in turn will modify the way we effect the world around us. I emphasize the word "WE," because Americans need to reengage their voting duty and their consumptive habits. We all need to drive electric vehicles or use mass transportation. It is the only way to get ourselves out of the slump. Bill Maher had a great idea when he said we should go for one big project. Like a Giant National Solar Power Plant in some of the Deserts of America. Think of all the energy we could generate and how it would change our economy for the better if America became the most sophisticated and refined producer of solar electric devices and electric vehicles. I propose we start with putting solar panels on all the roofs that get a decent amount of sunlight and putting windmills in the other areas with stormier weather.

America could begin producing things again, and exporting them. This will help our trade deficit and make us less reliant on our own consumer spending.

The government cannot make this happen by itself. The people in America need to start the businesses that create solar electricity, wind electricity and of course, tidal electricity; using the movement of oceans to generate electricity is really exciting stuff.
